The Monti Sibillini National Park has lots of opportunities for walkers and hikers and we will be adding some of the best walking in Le Marche to the site over the coming weeks (Ed. but we have to get out there and walk them first - summer 2009!). You can find the walks that have already been added at the bottom of this page. If you would like to write a review of a walk in the park then use the contact us form and send one in and we will be happy to publish it and credit your work.

We are also keen to add some mountain bike trails so send them in with your review.

An essential resource for getting around the park and finding your way across the Sibillini Mountains is the Parco Nazionale Dei Monti Sibillini carta dei sentieri scala 1:25.000 which lists all the main walks in the park with their route numbers.

The Monti Sibillini National Park was founded in 1993 with the aim to safeguard the environment, to promote social and economic sustainable development, and to create a "Park suitable to everyone". The park covers an area of 70,000 hectares, includes 18 municipalities with over 13,000 inhabitants and is home to a diverse range of animals including the crested porcupine, eurasian eagle owl, golden eagle, peregrine falcon, roe deer, vipera, wildcat and wolf

The Monti Siblillini National Park has produced a promotional video showing some of the fantastic views in the park and the diverse range of wildlife.

Hi Mandy

There are lots of places to stay in Castelluccio listed here on Google Maps. There is the easy walk across the piano grande plain that you have probably already seen on the website http://www.sibillinifoothills.com/monti-sibillini-national-park/castelluccio-piano-grande.

You can also try some other walks around the area listed in the map: Parco Nazionale Dei Monti Sibillini carta dei sentieri scala 1:25.000

Another option is to do some of the day long walks which are part of the Grande Anello Sibillini - which is a series of walks that form a circuit around the whole park but you could do some of the sections North and South of Norcia. You can get more info on this here.

information

Hi,
Love you video and info. I am going to Mt Sibillini on 29th May for 5 nights. I am thinking of staying 2 nights in Castelluccio and 3 nights in Norcia. I won't have a car, any tips, info or tour companies you can recommend for me to do some easy walking, or what area what you recommend for scenic beauty. Its hard to find out much info so I appreciated your comments and suggestions.

Thanks
Mandy
